Cold & Flu Season is Here
Do you wonder what you can do to keep from getting sick this winter or to get rid of that bug sooner? Here are some practical tips:
1.Get rid of sugar in your diet. This includes Corn Syrup, High-fructose Corn Syrup, Maltodextrin, fructose, dextrose and other -ose words. Sugars feed the infection and keep it stronger.
2.Eat foods which build up the immune system. Fresh fruits and vegetables are a good start. Eating fresh foods as raw as possible will give you the most nutrients, enzymes and antioxidants.
3.Vitamin C, Berries, antioxidants (found in dark colored fruits and veggies) and others can help shorten a cold or flu. A certified herbalist can suggest other natural viral fighters.
4.Stay away from foods which lower the immune system. Corn and all corn products, chocolate, alcohols, soft drinks and processed foods.
5.Wash hands often especially when you have been around others or out in the general public. Germs can stay alive on hard surfaces for several hours.
6.And the most important, if you are sick stay home. This helps prevent spreading the bug.
Following these suggestions can help your body fight for you this fall and winter.
